As an Economic Development Organization (EDO), the mission of the Holmes County Development Commission is to facilitate business recruitment and development, promote industry and improve existing operations to help accomplish economic development initiatives within the county.

The Holmes County Development Commission was established in 1957 and created by an act of the Florida Legislature. The HCDC Board is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The 12 person regular Board includes 2 representatives from each of Holmes County’s 5 commission districts and 2 members “At Large.” Ex Officio board members include the mayor of each incorporated area within Holmes County, the Chairman of the County Commission and the President of the Chamber of Commerce.
